Poke Press Digest Podcast: Episode 65: Discussing the Music of Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs

Anne from Pikapi Podcast joins me to discuss the music of Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs for the DS. This final entry in the trilogy may not change the Ranger formula drastically, but it does come with a wide array of new tunes. As usual, there’s a game discussion after the outro:

Poke Press Digest Podcast: Episode 32-Pokemon Snap Music/Anime Milwaukee 2020

In the first segment (0:29-37:28), Anne from Pikapi Podcast drops in to talk about the music of Pokémon Snap for the N64. Despite being somewhat different from most other Pokémon games, we were able to make some interesting observations about its soundtrack and voice acting. As for the game itself, listen after the outro for that conversation.

Our second segment (38:46-43:03) is an interview with Erica Lindbeck from Anime Milwaukee 2020*-you might remember her from episode 7. Since then, she’s done some additional work for Pokémon, this time for the Pokémon Masters mobile game. You’ll find out about that, as well as other projects she’s been involved in.

Poke Press Digest Podcast: Episode 22-Erica Schroeder/Victini Movie(s) Music

For the first segment (0:55-7:16), I interview Erica Schroeder, a long-time voice actor for the Pokemon dub. We talk about how she got into the anime, her work as the singing voice of Meloetta, and her roles in the recently released movie "Pokemon: The Power of Us".

The second segment (7:23-56:25) covers the music of the 14th Pokemon movies-and no, that isn't a mistake. Anne from Pikapi Podcast helps me sort out the extra-large amount of material we had to cover this time around. Listen to find out if two songs from Every Little Thing or the two versions of "Follow Your Star" come out on top.

"Aim To Be A Pokemon Master 2017" unboxing + new digest podcast episode

The new version of the original Japanese opening theme comes with a few goodies packed in. If you want to know what you'll be getting with this CD/DVD combo pack, you can find out here:

For the latest digest episode, there are two segments. First, Anne from Pikapi Podcast returns to talk about the music of Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, where “A Thing To Be Protected” takes on ”Together We Make A Promise”. These two very different songs lead to another interesting discussion.

The second segment is an archival interview with Brian Steckler, co-writer of “Catch Me If You Can” from Pokémon: The First Movie. As it turns out, Brian has had quite an interesting career, covering commercials, TV, and more:
